Mariko Asabuki
Novelist. Known for her multilayered depictions of time. Born in 1984. Made her debut with "Trajectory" in 2009. Became the youngest winner of the Prix des Deux Magots for the same work in 2010. Awarded the Akutagawa Prize for "Kikotowa". Other works include Timeless. She has also carried out reading of her works across multiple genres, including at the Centre Pompidou-Metz Japanorama exhibition.

Kanji Yumisashi
Born in Mie Prefecture in 1986
Tokyo base
Continue to create with the themes of "suicide" and "consolation". After graduating from Nagoya University of Arts and Sciences, he started a video production company in Nagoya with his student friends. After resigning as a representative, he moved to Tokyo, and in 2015, when he was studying as the first student of Genron Chaos * Lounge New Art School, his mother, who had lost his physical and mental balance after a traffic accident, died on his own. A "bird motif with a ring" emerged before the casket, and it is the core of his expression that appears repeatedly in many subsequent works. From 2021, a project to think about past wars centered on "Manchuria" was started.

Kanji Yumisashi is a Tokyo-based artist born in 1986 in Mie Prefecture. He creates works based on original research into events, suicide, memorials, and other subjects. This work is jointly created with Mariko Asabuki. “I’m going to create a work based on what I happened to experience, such as the things I saw and ate as well as the stories I heard from local residents while visiting Ishinomaki. As an outsider, I would like to paint various aspects related to memories of the city as much as possible.” (Kanji Yumisashi)
